Description
Here is an important and rare vintage Patek Philippe wristwatch in never touched, never polished condition. The reference 2481 is rare and its oversized case makes it very collectable. Significantly, the reference 2481 is the model Patek chose to case its extremely expensive cloisonné dials of the period, and other bespoke creations.
This wristwatch features an enamel ruby-set dial with portrait of King Saud Bin Abdul Aziz. He was the son of the founder of Saudi Arabia, and reigned as King of Saudi Arabia from 1953 through 1964. This watch is from 1955.
Original never polished 18k rose gold case is 37mm diameter by 11mm thick. Bezel is concave and lugs have an undiminished crisp step. Acrylic crystal and massive 18k snap on case back.
Original untouched white enamel dial with applied ruby hour markers, embossed minutes and seconds chapter and my favorite, original rose gold dauphine hands along with sweep center seconds hand. Dial is in perfect condition with no cracks or defects of any kind.
Original manual winding Patek Philippe Caliber 27 SC with 18 jewels, stamped with the Geneva Seal, adjusted to temperature, isochronism and in 5 positions, and with swan’s neck fine regulator. Movement is clean and running.
