Description
The Patek Philippe Beta 21 movement was actually the fruit of a collaborative effort spanning from 1962 through 1969, which was sponsored by over 20 leading Swiss watch brands, and named the Centre Electronique Horloger. The resulting movement was introduced at the 1970 Basel Fair, and was put into watches by various brands.
There were only 6,000 Beta 21 movements produced, which makes it a rare movement – as are the watches that encase them. Other examples besides the Patek Philippe 3597 include the Rolex 5100 Oysterquartz, and the Piaget 14101. The Beta 21 movement is known for its accuracy, large size and the first quartz movement Patek used.
This piece is in mint, almost new condition. Featuring an 18K white gold case and bracelet and measuring 42 millimeters in size.
