Description
Most watches have some amount of art integrated in them, whether it's vestiges of the watchmaker's art evidenced in the movement, or a skilled designer's work on the dial, or case lines that required the mind of an architect to conceive. This watch, though, is drenched with artistry. From the metallurgist who formed the case according to Gerald Genta's blueprints, to the skeletonizer/engraver who put their touch to bear on this most special of movements... If you have the choice to put anything you want on your wrist, then you will not find a more stunning watch than this.
Audemars Piguet Quantieme Perpetual Calendar in platinum on integral bracelet with pre-‘AP’ deployment clasp. Case is 39mm in diameter by 10mm thick. Case finish alternates between mirror polished and brush finished surfaces.
Properly speaking there is no dial since the watch is skeletonized. The indexes display the calendar functions including the leap year cycle. The watch is surprisingly legible for a skeletonized and complicated perpetual calendar interface. Blued feuille hands. White chapter rings make the indicators stand out.
Movement is the AP Caliber 2120/2802 automatic with 38 jewels, 40 hour power reserve and a hand decorated skeletonized rotor with 21k segment for increased mass/winding efficiency.
This is an elite watch and very popular with collectors for obvious reasons…
