The Breguet Type XX (pronounced Type 20) Aeronavale was made after and inspired by the design of the original post-world war II ‘Type 20’ French military watches. The XX Aeronavale was first introduced in 1994 and still a wonderful highly sought after modern day pilot chrono.
Case is polished stainless steel measuring 39.5mm in dimension. Screw down crown and modest chrono pushers. The watch features a unidirectional bezel and transparent caseback, which is very rare on a Type 20.
The blue dial makes this Type 20 very limited. Most come with a black dial and solid caseback. This is truly a special piece. Contrasting silver and blue colors on the dial, bold Arabic numerals for a majority of the hour markers and subdials for 60-seconds, 12-hour and 60-minutes at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. The hands are vintage pilot style hands.
Running this timepiece is the Breguet Caliber 582, based on the Lemania 1350 but with a flyback complication. 48-hour power reserve and ticking at 28,800 VPH.
Incredibly comfortable and versatile. Rare and in mint condition.
