Description
Here is a strikingly nice looking vintage chronograph from the venerable Jaeger from circa 1950. Large 18k gold case with massive screw back. This watch is very similar to the Rolex 6238 pre-Daytona chronograph and shares the same Valjoux 72B movement.
Solid 18k gold case is 36mm in diameter by 13.3mm thick, with smooth bezel, massive screw back, domed acrylic crystal, and round pump style chronograph pushers.
Original silvered dial with applied golden dot hour markers, original golden dauphine hands, blued subdial and center seconds hands and blue tachymetre scale.
Clean original Valjoux Caliber 72B column wheel chronograph caliber with 17 jewels, working perfectly. Movement is protected by inner dust cap. Movement was serviced in June 2013 and is pristine.
New calf leather strap.
