Description
For watch collectors, it does not get better than owning a Patek Philippe minute repeater. Add a perpetual calendar with unique interface and a gorgeous, perfectly proportioned 18k tonneau shaped case, and you have watch heaven. We have sold more Patek Philippe minute repeaters than any other dealer over the past two decades... and we still feel a special reverence for these big, important Pateks.

The reference 5013 is special for many reasons. One of them is the perpetual calendar display. Unique when it was introduced on the 5013, the three apertures (day, leap year cycle, and month) along with the retrograde date went on to be used in Patek’s most collectable perpetual calendar, the reference 5050. The movement in the 5013 has the distinction of being the second most complex Patek wristwatch movement (after the movement in the Sky Moon Tourbillon) with 515 individual parts.

Case is 18k with tonneau shape. Dimensions are 37mm long (46mm long with lugs) by 35mm wide by 12.8mm thick. Sapphire crystal. The tonneau shape is very elegant.

The silver dial is so light in color that it is almost white. Dial has applied golden Breguet numerals, pomme hands and minutes chapter at its periphery. Perpetual calendar functions are displayed as follows: month in the 3 o'clock aperture; moonphase (and seconds) in the 6 o'clock subdial; day in the 9 o'clock aperture; leap year cycle in the 12 o'clock aperture; date along the retrograde scale which spans from 8 o'clock to 4 o'clock.

Patek ratcheted up the heat with the automatic winding Caliber R 27 PS QR. Minute repeating calibers are almost exclusively manual winding... but Patek wanted to offer collectors something really special, and they certainly succeeded. This caliber has 39 jewels, free-sprung balance adjusted to temperature, isochronism and in 5 positions, a 22k micro-rotor, and is stamped with the Geneva Seal. Significantly, the flyback retrograde date hand requires a trivial amount of energy from the movement as it advances instantly from the end of the preceding month to the first of the new month. In fact, all calendar functions advance instantly including the month and leap year indicators.

Strap is new Patek Philippe crocodile with 18k gold Patek buckle.

Watch is like new with Patek box. This is a very important Patek Philippe wristwatch.
