Additional Information Patek's most unexpected and captivating watch since the 5070. New with box & papers.
Patek’s most unexpected watch since the 5070 chronograph, this Calatrava Pilot Travel Time looked unlike absolutely anything and everything else that Patek made upon its 2015 debut at the Basel Fair. I literally gasped in surprise when I learned about it. In the metal it is even better.

You might think that the dark blue dial with luminous Arabic numerals and hands would be the first thing to catch your eye, but you would be wrong. It’s the truly massive 42mm 18k white gold case, mirror finished throughout, that grabs your attention. It’s, well, awesome. Large crown and two large buttons on the left case side (to advance and set back the local hour hand), along with huge sapphire crystal and wide bezel. The wrist presence of this watch is immense.

The dark blue dial is a treasure. It is pilot themed, but no pilot’s watch would lavish this level of attention to detail and quality of finish. The hour and minutes hand are blued and filled with luminous. The arabic numerals are large and traced in white gold and also filled with luminous. The home time hour hand is skeletonized. There is a large date indicator that, at first glance, looks like a subsidiary seconds dial. Finally, there are convenient Day/Night indicators for both the local and home times. Notice also the rail track minutes chapter at the periphery of the dial and the bubble on the white seconds hand, how it’s almost all the way at the end.

Patek’s designers were working overtime when they designed this watch!

Automatic winding Patek Philippe Caliber CH 324 S C FUS, with all of Patek’s technological innovations incorporated, power this beast. 29 jewels, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions, the movement also proudly bears the Patek Seal.

The strap is Patek’s own brown calf leather with exposed white stitching and what Patek terms a “clevis prong buckle” in 18k white gold.

New with box and papers… this watch is a ton of fun and is no doubt an important Patek watch already.
