Description
The Patek Philippe perpetual calendar reference 3450 was introduced in 1981 as the successor to the reference 3448. Ironically, the 3448 and 3450 were produced concurrently until 1985, when they were replaced by the 3940. Only 244 reference 3450s were ever made.
Our watch is co-signed Tiffany & Co. and is never polished, retaining its original factory finish. Feast your eyes on the undiminished hallmarks on the side of the case. As crisp as the day it left the factory.
Case is 38mm with sculpted, downward pointing lugs and wide, smooth bezel. The case has both a modern and vintage appearance, and makes the watch instantly recognizable to genuine watch cognoscenti. Sapphire crystal. Case back is snap-on with a protruding lip.
Dial is co-signed Tiffany & Co. and is silvered and has baton hour markers and dauphine hands. Calendar displays Day, Month, Date and Moonphase. Significantly, the 3450 also provides the leap-year display between 3 o’clock and 4 o’clock and this is what differentiates the watch from the 3448. This watch is revealed as a 2nd series 3450 by its roman numeral leap year display. The leap year is displayed as a red dot.
Movement is the Patek Philippe automatic winding Caliber 27-460 QB with 37 jewels and 18k winding rotor. Movement is pristine and running great.
This watch is extremely rare and important and in never polished, crisp mint+ condition.
