Description
The Rolex Datejust reference 6305-1 is known colloquially as the "Ovettone", Italian for "Big Egg", and was produced between 1955 and 1957 only. It is highly prized by Rolex collectors.
Case is 18k yellow gold with dimensions of 36mm diameter by 13mm thick. Acrylic crystal. Fluted bezel. Screw down crown. Case is in mint condition. Case number is 498XX and model is engraved as "BREVET +" "6305 1"
All original dial is gold with radial brushed pattern and broad, applied hour markers. Date numerals are red for the even numbered days and black for the odd days. Dial is pristine.
Movement is automatic Rolex Caliber with 18 jewels. Certified chronometer. Movement bears number 6972X.
Bracelet is 18k Rolex Jubilee with clasp which shows a production date of February 1955.
