Description
The Bentley Flying B is, stylistically, a stunning departure from legion of round case chronographs that have made Breitling an horological household name. Just as a Bentley car looks and feels solid, so does this Flying B. The case is polished steel and it's expertly crafted and massive. This is a really exciting design which is very popular and sold-out at all Breitling dealers.
Case is stainless steel with an overall rectangular shape, which flares out slightly on the sides. Dimensions are 56.5mm long (including the lugs) by 40mm wide by 14.7mm thick. Caseback is secured by eight screws. Crystal is formed sapphire. Crown screws down. Water resistant to 100 meters. The caseback has Bentley Flying B logo engraved.
Dial is very nicely executed and attractive. There are so many details here: off-center time display with window for the jump hour display and polished skeleton hand indicating minutes. Hour markers are mother of pearl and applied. Subsidiary seconds display with red seconds chapter. There is a broad polished steel ring which surrounds the time displays and the outermost area of the dial is an engraved pattern that matches the instrument panel on many Bentley dashboards.
Movement is the Breitling Caliber 28 with 38 jewels, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
