Description
This is a gorgeous watch. Rolex just does everything right: their cases are the best, their calibers are rock solid durable and keep chronometer time, and their dials are beautiful. When they decide to set a watch with precious stones, they go all out. Consider this Daytona reference 16599 with a baguette sapphire bezel and pave diamond dial and end links -- the watch is just drop dead beautiful.
Case is 18k white gold with dimensions of 39mm diameter by 13mm thick. Sapphire crystal. Screw down chronograph pushers and crown. Water resistant to 100 meters.
Movement is the Zenith El Primero automatic winding column wheel chronograph beating at 36,600 beats per hour. Screw-down chrono pushers. Sapphire crystal. When Rolex first transitioned to their own in house chronograph caliber, the market for the El Primero based Daytona softened immediately. However, now the El Primero caliber Daytonas are back with a vengeance... collectors are snapping them right up.
Strap is glossy blue with an 18k white gold Rolex deployant clasp.
Rolex could not have made more than a few dozen of the caliber 16599s, at tops. Original retail was $90,000. This watch is in mint condition and complete with box and papers. Once again, all stones are factory Rolex.
