Description
This vintage Rolex Cosmograph Daytona chronograph reference 6240 received a Rolex service in late April 2006 and has not been worn since. Accordingly, the watch is in perfect condition cosmetically and mechanically. The original dial, hands and bezel insert were all retained on the watch... so this watch is all original and perfect.
Case number is 12983XX. The original Guarranty document is included, which records December 13, 1969 as the date of the retail sale.
Original case measures 38mm diameter by 14mm thick. Acrylic crystal. Chronograph pushers are round/pump style and screw down for protection against intrusion. The winding crown also screws down. The crown and pushers are functioning as they should and the chronograph hands reset perfectly to their zero positions. The case is extremely clean and the original caselines are all intact and perfect.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex caliber appropriate to this watch. Because the caseback was last opened and sealed by Rolex, we do not want to open it. Given the 2006 service, I am certain the movement is perfect.
Original dial is black with contrasting silver subdials.
