Description
Here is another outstanding watch from IWC -- the limited edition AMG Ingeniuer chronograph in titanium with a titanium bracelet. The bracelet on this watch is just amazing. It features IWC's patented system of two buttons on each watch link; when the two buttons are simulaneously depressed, the links simply pop apart. Anyone can size the bracelet like an expert with no risk of breaking a part or scratching the metal.

The Ingenieur model was introduced by IWC decades ago as a highly anti-magnetic timepiece, designed for engineers and scientists in laboratories who needed their watches to function without the risk of getting magnetized. The scientific marketplace for an expensive Swiss watch is a small one and, not surprisingly, the Ingenieur never sold well despite decades of being in the IWC catalog. Five years ago, IWC resurrected the Ingeniuer with a large, modern case inspired by the Gerald Genta designed Ingeniuer from the 1970s. IWC finally got the timing right with the Ingenieur, and they are now deservedly top sellers.

This is the limited edition AMG chronograph. The massive titanium case back has the following inscriptions: "IWC INGENIEUR" "BY IWC EXCLUSIVELY FOR MERCEDES AMG" "AFFALTERBACH" and also features the AMG logo. The titanium case measures 42.5mm diameter by 13.5mm thick. Sapphire crystal.Screw down crown. Water resistant to 120 meters. Bezel features the characteristic 5 holes of the 1970s Ingenieurs.

Dial is black with massive applied arabic numerals. Hands and hour markers feature generous and bright luminous. Red seconds hand. Tachymeter scale.

Movement is the IWC automatic winding chronograph caliber 79350 with 25 jewels.

Retail price is $7100. Watch is new with box and papers.
