Description
This watch is a limited edition of 100 pieces and this is watch number 2X. The release was 1999 and it was A. Lange & Sohne's first limited edition watch since their resurrection in 1995. What makes it so special is the guilloche on the solid gold dial. This watch is new with box and papers.
Case is solid 18k yellow gold with dimensions of 38.5mm diameter by 9.5mm thick. Sapphire front and back crystals. Date quick correction button on outside of case at 10 o'clock.
Movement is the A. Lange & Sohne Caliber L901.1which is manual winding. The movement features the famed Glashutte 3/4 plate and a hand decorated balance cock. Twin barrels provide a power reserve of 72 hours.
The dial is the highlight of this watch. The dial itself is a pane of solid gold with hand guilloche. Lange & Sohne invented the out-sized date, and the Lange One was the first watch to implement this vast improvement over the traditional, miniature date display. The time is displayed to the left of the dial's center, and the chapter features applied gold roman numerals. There is also a power reserve display and the constant seconds in the subdial between 4 and 5 o'clock.
Strap is extra high quality medium brown crocodile with an 18k buckle. Both the strap and buckle are original to the watch.
The Lange One has been offered in many dial colors, case sizes and with various design changes over the years. This is the only limited edition Lange One and is the most important Lange One.
