Description
Here is another classic timepiece that hasn’t changed much over the past 50 years in appearance; A beautiful vintage Rolex Day-Date President, ref. 6611 in 18k Yellow Gold. The reference 6611 replaced the very first Day Date reference 6511, which was produced for only one year (1956). This watch dates to the late 1950s.
The 36mm case is in very nice condition -- all edges are nice and crisp. The condition of the crown and the 18k fluted bezel are in keeping with the case. The caseback has a small indentation, which can be seen in the attached photos.
The original gold/champagne dial is pristine and features a sunburst sateen finish. The dial is a rare pie pan style, with the outer edge of the dial slanted down towards the case. These dials became popular in the 50’s and highly sought after by collectors. Hands are original and mint.
Overall, this early Day-Day President is in excellent condition and is certain to please any Rolex Collector.
It is ready for daily wear and will be delivered on a quality glossy dark brown alligator strap with period original Rolex 18k gold buckle.
