Description
Here is a vintage Rolex GMT Master in 18k and steel ("two-tone") with an original brown nipple dial. This watch is literally in perfect, all original condition - what a treat! Reference 1675 with case number 60015XX which dates production to 1979/80, which makes this late in the production run of this particular configuration of 1675 GMT. To be honest, at first I was thrown off by the combination of the brown nipple dial and the 1979/80 production date. I thought that the nipple dial was only offered on much earlier watches, but this exact configuration can be seen on page 162-163 in the Mondani/Ravagnani book "Rolex GMT-Master: Collecting Wristwatches" which notes that production ranged from 1970/1 to 1980.
Case is stainless steel with original 18k yellow gold bezel with and original insert. Acrylic crystal. Screw down crown operates perfectly. This case is full metal and crisp and never polished. Dimensions are 39mm diameter by 13mm thick.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570. This C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer is adjusted to temperature and 5 positions. Movement is pristine and operating strongly.
Original dial is brown with the popular pyramid or so-called nipple hour markers. Hands are original and the dial is perfect.
Watch will be delivered on a new RIOS medium brown strap with exposed stitching.
