Description
This limited edition has a special place in the heart of all Patek Philippe collectors. The reference 3960 was produced in 200 pieces in 1989 to commemorate the firm's 150th anniversary. Giving this honor to a Calatrava was an excellent choice, as the Calatrava is Patek's most famous and most successful model. This is no ordinary Calatrava, however. Featuring a Hunter style case with hinged caseback and extra long lugs with strap screws, this watch also has an extra-clean and understated white enamel dial.
Case is 18k yellow gold with dimensions of 33mm diameter by 9mm thick. Sapphire crystal and onion style crown. The big story with the case is the hinged caseback, which opens to reveal the 150th Anniversary text as shown in the picture below.
Dial is white enamel with stylized arabic numerals and railroad style minutes track. Blackened pomme style hands. Subsidiary seconds. This dial is so clean and so classic!
Movement is the Patek Philippe manual winding Caliber 215 with 18 jewels, free-sprung balance, adjusted to temperature and five positions and bearing watchmaking's most prestigious designantion - the Geneva Seal.
Strap is glossy black, hand-sewn Patek black crocodile with 18k Patek tang buckle.
This watch is in new condition and will be delivered with Patek box.
