Description
Every original vintage Patek Philippe Calatrava has its charms, but this watch has more than its fair share given the extremely rare and all original black dial. You just don't see black dials on vintage Calatravas, period. In addition, the Caliber 12-400 is double stamped with the Geneva Seal!
Original case is 18k yellow gold with dimensions of 35.5mm diameter by 10mm thick. Generously domed acrylic crystal. The lugs are claw style and flared. Caseback is engraved "GMC - GMOO" "G.L. TERPENNING" "1936 - 1961".
Original dial is black with applied '12', '3', '9' and hour markers. Dial is all original and in outstanding and perfect condition. Hands are also original. Subsidiary seconds dial.
Original movement is the manual winding Patek Philippe Caliber 12-400 with 18 jewels and adjusted to temperature, isochronism and five positions. As mentioned, this movement is double stamped with the Geneva Seal. The movement is running smoothly and well.
Watch will be delivered on a Patek strap with 18k buckle.
