Only years in the South American sun can turn out sexy brown tropical dials like the one on this vintage GMT Master (and let's not forget the other product of years in the South American sun: those gorgeous Brazilian beach bunnies!). This GMT literally has it all; all of the most lusted after collector's aspects incorporated into one watch!

Let's start with the original no crown guards steel case with case number 2628XX and caseback production date of the second quarter 1958. The case is extremely fresh and sharp. IF it has ever been polished, and it's an "if", then it was only polished once and lightly... the case is that nice - full metal and fat lugs and original shoulder bevels. The screw down crown works perfectly, and is signed with the Rolex Coronet over a "+". Original bezel turns smoothly and features the beautiful original red and blue 24 hour resin insert.

Original movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1035 with 25 jewels and adjusted to five positions and temperature. Movement is completely original and running smoothly.

Dial is 100% original and turning a deep brown, or "tropical" in the parlance of vintage Rolex collectors. It also has the very desirable rail AND gilt dial: the rail being the continuous line that connects all of the minute hash marks and gilt being the color of all the dial printing. The original hands have intact and matching luminous and the red GMT hand features the highly collectable small arrowhead. Finally, the date wheel is roulette style -every other number of the month is in red.

Even the bracelet is extra special on this watch - this style of Jubilee bracelet being created for use on GMTs exclusively. The links are a special, curled or puckered shape and the clasp is stamped 6251H and the production code is January 1970. End links are stamped "55".
