Description
The Rolex GMT Master II was my second Rolex watch when I began my collecting. Rolex makes so many classic and seminal watch styles. The Rolex GMT Master was the first GMT watch, and has been worn for decades by pilots (for whom it was developed, by the way) and also by many astronauts. Like all Rolex watches, it runs great, looks even better, and makes a loyal and indefatigable companion for any adventure or adventurer.
Case is stainless steel with dimensions of 40mm diameter by 12mm thick. 24 hour bezel turns in both directions and is used in conjunction with the red, arrow-tipped hand which revolves once around the dial during a 24 hour period, to allow tracking a second timezone. Screw down crown and sapphire crystal ensure water resistance to 100 meters.
Dial is black with applied hour markers which are coated in luminous, as are the hands. Date at 3 o'clock. Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3185, which features 31 jewels, a free sprung Breguet balance and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
