Description
Very attractive, vintage Orator "Sportsman" divers watch, from circa 1960. This particular example is in beautiful, all original condition, and features a slightly curved, gloss black dial with luminous markers and a date window at the 3'o clock position.
The date window itself is framed by luminous material, which is very unique. The hands are original to this watch, and add a nice vintage touch to the overall appeal.
The satin brushed and oversized stainless steel case measures 38 mm x 12 mm, excluding the winding crown, and doesn't appear to have been polished before; it is in near NOS condition!
Another unique feature to this vintage Orator is the gloss black, bi-directional bezel, with diamond shaped markers and arabic numerals. A crown " shaped" logo is located at the 12'o clock position of the bezel, and adds a touch of sophistication to this piece.
The 17 jewel automatic movement, caliber 4004 by Schild & Co., is very clean and is running smoothly. The crystal is acrylic is in great condition.
This rarely seen, vintage Orator divers watch, is unique in every aspect, and would be a great addition to any vintage divers watch collection. It is equally suitable to be worn with either jeans or a suit, and will be delivered on a black Nato-style canvas strap.
