Description
This is one of those infrequent time machine watches… like you have the chance to go in a time machine and being the watch lover that you are, you go back and buy yourself a Daytona Cosmograph at a dealer for the 1979 price ($3495). Smart! Well, this is just such a watch. The condition is perfect. It's so crisp and sharp that it merits a condition rating of "as new". Remarkable!
Original case is solid 18k yellow gold with dimensions of 37mm diameter by 13.9mm thick.Crystal is acrylic. Screw down crown and round pump style chronograph pushers are working perfectly and the chronograph functions reset to zero accurately and crisply. Engraved "Units per Hour" bezel with scale from '50' to '200' has a razor sharp edge.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and adjusted to 3 positions. Caliber features column wheel construction and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is winding smoothly and running well. Movement is as shiny and new looking as the case.
Original dial is black with applied hour markers and contrasting gold color sub dials. Sub dials indicate chronograph elapsed time - one dial counts up to 30 minutes while the other counts up to 12 hours. There is also a sub dial for constant seconds. Dial and hands are original and untouched and in mint condition.
Watch is on a new light brown calf strap with genuine gold plated vintage Rolex buckle.
