Description
Presenting the Tudor Chrono Time chronograph: a great looking and highly collectable vintage chronograph that features a Rolex case and unique grey dial with orange highlights. Produced in very limited quantity in 1986, this chronograph features three sub dials and automatic winding. Over the years, this Tudor chronograph has come to be known as the Monte Carlo.
Original stainless steel Rolex Oyster case is massive at 38mm diameter by 14.5mm thick. Case also features Rolex Trip-Lock screw down crown and screw down chronograph pushers (all operating properly). Crystal is acrylic. Original bezel has sharp edges and original blue insert with Units per Hour scale with index from ‘60’ to ‘500’. Case back reads “ORIGINAL OYSTER CASE BY ROLEX GENEVA” along with the Rolex crown. Case is in mint+ original unpolished condition. Serial number is 880XXX.
Original dial is two tone grey in color with orange highlights including orange Arabic numbers in the minutes/seconds chapter. Date with Cyclops magnifier at 3 o’clock. Dial and hands are untouched and original.
Original movement is the automatic winding Tudor Caliber 7750 which is the highest quality version of the Valjoux 7750 chronograph caliber made. Rolex ordered and received special modifications to the base caliber for use in the Tudor watches. The movement in this watch is immaculate and running strong and well.
Bracelet is the Tudor Oyster reference 78360 which is the Rolex Oyster 78360 except that this clasp is marked with Tudor Watch Co. Ltd. instead of Rolex and has the Tudor shield instead of the Rolex crown. Bracelet has 10 links and is in mint+ condition.
This watch is in mint to mint+ condition and is a fun and collectable chronograph.
