Description
Remember the “Double Dog Dare” from when we were kids? Well, I double dog dare you to find another Patek Philippe reference 2482 in 18k rose gold with a two-tone dial. They just don’t exist. This dial is guaranteed 100% original and untouched and the case is in original unpolished condition. Beautiful!
Let’s start with the large watch case. The lugs are alternately known as “claw” style or “lapidated”. Very few Patek watch cases used these style lugs, which are a real treat. The crystal is acrylic. Dimensions are 36mm diameter by 11.2mm. The case back is engraved “M.B.”.
The movement is a Patek Philippe manual winding Caliber 27 SC with 18 jewels and stamped with the Geneva Seal. The movement is in perfect condition and working well.
The dial is (like the rest of the watch) completely original. The ‘12’ and ‘6’ are applied as are the golden hour markers. The outer part of the dial (with the hour markers) is copper color. The inner area of the circle is gold color with a vertically brushed finish. There is a minutes and seconds chapter printed on the edge of the inner area. The original hands are baton style, which is very unusual on a Patek Philippe of that era. The seconds hand is blued.
So there you have it – a truly beautiful and all original vintage Patek Philippe with spectacularly rare dial.
