Description
It is refreshing to see that while oversized and bulky watches have cornered the market for fashion watches, Bell & Ross has managed to create its own successful niche of oversized watches with its line of square shaped instrument watches.
The B&R BR01-04 “Instrument” watch is clearly inspired by the control panel of a fighter jet and is the flagship of the distinctive Instrument line. It is difficult not to be impressed with this limited edition piece, which was produced in a series of 250 examples, and has become almost impossible to find.
As we’ve become accustomed to the high standards B&R infuses into the production of its watches, this particular BR01-04 PVD instrument watch has also set a new standard of quality among the ever so popular black PVD coated watches.
While many other brands have opted to treat their black versions with a light and superficial black coating on steel, the B&R PVD treated case is far more resiliant to wear and fading than most others, a testament to the superlative finishing B&R applies to the finishing aspect of its cases.
The dial is truly as functional and legible as it is beautiful! With its orange luminous application, this particular chronograph features a completely non-reflective matte black finish, small chronograph sub registers, and oversized numerals and orange lume tipped hands which glow like torch lights in the dark.
The small date aperture is located between the 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock markers. The massive satin finished PVD steel case, measures 46mm x 46mm, and despite its size, wears extremely comfortable on even a smaller sized wrist.
Looks aside, the presence and feel of this watch in the flesh is beyond compare, you will absolutely love it!
The movement is automatic.
The strap is a B&R signed rubber strap of the highest quality, with an oversized PVD treated steel B&R tang type buckle.
Whereas 95% of other extra large watches are merely fashion statements- this one knocks it out of the park in terms of quality and function!
