Description
Jaeger LeCoultre is in the top 5 Swiss watch manufacturers. The have innovative designs and they build their calibers so well, that other elite watch manufactures buy them to use in their watches. The Reverso model catapulted Jaeger LeCoultre (JLC) to fame in the 1950s. This Gran' Sport Chronograph is on the sporty side of the line (hence the name) and the chronograph features an eccentric retrograde display.
The watch features normal 12 hours time on the front dial, with a date and a little indicator that lets you know the chronograph is running. Where's the chronograph, you are asking, right? Well, pivot the case on its axis, and lo and behold there is a second dial on the reverse side of the case with a 30 minute retrograde chronograph with a larger 60 seconds chronograph seconds dial. Both dials feature cobblestone guilloche engraving.
The JLC Caliber powering this fun watch is manual winding; assembled, decorated and regulated by hand, is comprised of 317 individual parts and has a power reserve of approximately 44 hours.
As special as the caliber is, it's the case where all Reversos shine. The watch "head" is anchored into a brancard which is the frame that holds the watch head and bracelet. The construction is very sophisticated, with more than 50 parts. It's fun and cool to play with a Reverso, to see and feel how smoothly the head flips over. The watch overall is 44.3mm long including the lugs, by 32mm wide including the crown, by 12mm thick. Rubber strap cut to fit a 6.5 inch wrist with steel JLC deployant clasp.
This is a great watch, indiscernible from new, and we are offering it at a deep discount. Watch will include box and papers. Retail price is $11,900.
