Description
The 1999 reintroduction of Breguet's famous aviator's chronograph, the Aeronavale, was a big success. It’s success is obvious when you first lay your eyes and hands on one. From the mirror polished stainless steel case with its fluted case sides to the count-up timing bezel to the beautiful hand sewn Breguet crocodile strap, this watch is beautiful.
The Breguet Aeronavale is powered by the high-end Lemania caliber 1352. Automatic winding, integrated chronograph caliber, hand-adjusted.
Dial is a deep, matte black with luminous hands, arabic numerals and hour markers. Interestingly, the minutes totalizer for the chronograph is laid out in 2 minute divisions, and counts up to 30 minutes. The 12 hour totalizer is at 6 o'clock. Bezel turns to track elapsed time (uni-directional).
The case is the highlight of this watch for me. The case sides feature vertical channelling, the sapphire crystal is domed. Water resistant to 200 meters. Fit and finish are exemplary. The steel is polished to adroitly, that the case looks like white gold. Serial number is engraved on the caseback. 39mm diameter by 14mm thick.
Watch is indiscernible from new with box and papers.
