Description
The Breguet Marine is a really nice watch with an incredible amount of detail on the case and dial, and being a Breguet has both a superlative movement and an exalted pedigree. Breguet is at the top of the Swiss watch echelon and the Marine is their high end sporty watch model.
This watch is unworn and complete with original box and paper. Although Breguet no longer produces this model, the condition is indiscernible from new, perfect, 100%.
The case is incredible. First things first, the case is made from 18k yellow gold and stainless steel. Case measures 33mm diameter (not including the crown) and 8mm thick. The bezel is gold. The case sides are ribbed and gold. The case back is screwed on with 6 screws. The crown has protective shoulders, also ribbed with gold. The crown itself has “BREGUET” engraved on it. The crown screws down and the crystal is sapphire, Watch is water resistant to 30 meters. The bracelet links nearest the watch case are massive and connect to a beautiful and supple steel and gold bracelet with concealed clasp. The bracelet will fit up to a 7 inch wrist.
The dial is silvered and beautiful. The center of the dial features guilloche. The outer area is brush finished and features printed Roman numerals. Moving out toward the edge is one very fine row of guilloche, followed by an embossed and printed minutes chapter, followed by another fine row of guilloche. Hands are blued Pomme style. The dial also has a date display at 6 o’clock.
The attention to detail on the dial and case, and the execution of these elements, proves that Breguet need spare no expense to deliver a masterpiece of a watch.
Movement is the automatic winding Breguet Caliber 889/2 which features a 24k gold winding rotor.
