Description
The combination of red highlights on a black dial on a sports watch is a proven winner. This Ferrari by Panerai takes notice of this winning formula, and backs it up with a lot of impressive watch technology.

The 8 days of power reserve is the most useful innovation that I can think of. Whereas most manually winding watches need to be wound every day, this one allows the wearer to only have to wind it once every eight days. The "Giorni" display above 6 o'clock indicates to the wearer how many days of power are remaining in the watch's power reserve.

This watch also provides a one button ("Monopulsante" means single pusher) chronograph, with 30 minutes totalizer in the 3 o'clock subdial. The 9 o'clock subdial displays constant seconds and an AM/PM indicator. The AM/PM indicator, in conjunction with the red 24 hour GMT hand, allows the wearer to track local time with the main watch hands, and 24 hour/home time with the red GMT hand.

The case is stainless steel with dimensions of 45mm diameter by 16.5mm thick. The case has the characteristic Panerai cushion shape. Crystal is sapphire. The crown features a new locking mechanism. The case provides water resistance to 100 meters. Dial is black with red seconds and subdial hands. Main hands are luminous for low light legibility.

Movement is the manual winding Panerai Caliber P.2004/2 with 29 jewels, three spring barrels to provide the extra long power reserve, and column wheel chronograph construction. The column wheel chronograph construction is a big deal. The column wheel construction is the ideal mechanical approach to switching the chronograph on and off, but is expensive to build. Consequently, most manufacturers use more economical production approaches when building chronograph movements. Obviously, the Ferrari Panerai watches deserve the extra level of quality, and the result is this impressive Caliber P.2004/2.

Strap is a sporty black/grey crocodile with steel double Ferrari deployant clasp.

This watch is new and complete with double boxes, all documents, and tool set and second rubber strap. US Retail Price is $20,900.
