Description
Vintage gold Rolex watches take on such a warm hue with time. After seeing so many, I have become irreversibly jaded that no other watch case metal looks nicer than gold. And as the years pass, it only gets better.
This watch was manufactured in 1970, and still has many decades of service ahead of it.
This 14k Oyster Perpetual Date features its original 14k Jubilee bracelet which will fit up to 7.5 inch wrist. The case is in mint original condition. The original bezel is full metal and not polished down like so many others. Original crown screws down smoothly and works perfectly. Crystal is acrylic.
Dial is champagne color and has applied hour markers with inlaid black enamel. This style of hour markers is rare. The purpose of the black enamel is to make the dial more legible. The dial is subtly radially brushed, for a sunburst effect. The little luminous dots adjacent to the hour markers are all in perfectly intact condition. The date is visible at 3 o’clock through the Cyclops lens.
Movement is the automatic Rolex 1570 Caliber with 26 jewels and adjusted in 5 positions and for temperature. The movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
This is a great looking watch at an affordable price.
