Description
The reference 5015 Patek Philippe introduced the “Petite Complications” of moon phases display, power reserve display and eccentric off-center seconds subdial located between the 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock positions on the dial. Patek added to the excitement of this watch by using a hunter style case and a unique bezel which has one row of raised dots (not to be confused with the much more common hobnail bezel which has two rows of the raised dots).
Case is solid 18k rose gold, with dimensions of 35mm diameter by 8mm thick. Lugs are long and straight, and slope down toward the wrist for wearing comfort. The crystal is domed sapphire. The strap attaches to the case by means of exposed 18k screws. The big story with this case is the hunter style construction, which means the caseback is hinged, and can be popped open using a fingernail. Underneath the outer caseback is a sapphire display crystal, which reveals the gorgeous Patek Philippe Caliber 240/152.
The Caliber 240/152 is a manual winding movement with 29 jewels, 48 hour power reserve, orbital 22k micro rotor, outstanding finishing, and the elite Geneva Seal.
Dial is snow white with a printed railroad style minutes chapter at the dial's periphery, arabic numerals, and displays power reserve (48 hours), phase and age of the moon, and constant seconds. Hands are black spade style.
Strap is the original brown crocodile with 18k rose gold Patek Philippe buckle.
The reference 5015 was discontinued several years ago. This watch is in new condition with box and papers.
