Description
Feast your eyes on this vintage Submariner 5513, because after it’s sold only the new owner will have the enjoyment of seeing this watch. This early production 5513 has a gorgeous, 100% original and mint condition gilt gloss meters first dial with insanely nice patina across the hour markers and hands. This is a museum quality watch.
Original stainless steel case is 40mm diameter by 15mm thick. Crystal is domed acrylic and very clean. Screw down crown is working perfectly. The case is very clean, with fat lugs and even a trace of the original beveled edges.
Original black dial, as mentioned above, is in mint condition and 100% original. This gilt gloss dial has the desirable “meters first” dial, which is correct for the watch’s production year of 1966. The patina on the hour markers and original hands is uniform and very rich.
Original movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1520 with 17 jewels. Movement is in perfect, clean condition and running well.
Serial number is 1465XXX and case back is date stamped III.66
Bracelet is a riveted Rolex Oyster with 12 links and 1972 date stamp.
Take it from someone who has seen hundreds of Rolex 5513s: this mint+ condition early Submariner is one to own.
