Description
What watch is more impressive than an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore chronograph? The correct answer is none… except, of course, a solid gold Offshore chronograph. This particular Offshore is the limited edition Monte Napoleone in solid 18k yellow gold. This watch is brand new with box and papers (dated September 2010). What a magnificent watch!
AP made only 50 of these 18k Monte Napoleone Offshore chronos to celebrate the opening of their boutique at No. 6 Via Montenapoleone in Milan in 2006. This is watch number 2X of 50.
Solid gold case measures 44mm wide by 52.5mm long by 14.7mm thick. Sapphire crystal. The crown and chronograph pushers have a protective coating. Of course, it is the case that makes a Royal Oak, and it’s the octagonal bezel that most typifies this legendary timepiece. The bezel feature exposed 18k white gold screws which also serve the functional role of securing the bezel to the case body. The “fit and finish” on a Royal Oak is exceptionally well done, and you can lose yourself admiring the quality of the case’s finish. This case is water resistant to 100 meters, befitting its sports watch pedigree.
The dial is dark green, which is Audemars Piguet’s corporate color, and features the famous “Clous de Paris” decoration on the dial. The Arabic numerals and hands are highly luminous. The chronograph seconds hand and all of the subdial hands are red for legibility. There is a subdial for the chronograph’s 30 minute and 12 hour totalizers as well as constant running seconds. Date is displayed at 3 o’clock.
Movement is the exemplary Audemars Piguet Caliber 3126/3840. which is an extremely robust, accurate and efficiently winding automatic chronograph caliber.
Strap is hand sewn Audemars Piguet dark green crocodile with 18k gold AP deployant clasp.
In my opinion, a watch can be different from this wristwatch, but it would be impossible to be nicer. Watch is brand new with box and papers.
