Description
Every day that goes by, these vintage Rolex Cosmograph Daytona chronographs get more classic, more rare, more collectable and, ahem, more expensive. To say that their prices are climbing is a serious understatement. This one is all around mint and just your basic nice 6263, just waiting to be buckled onto an appreciative wrist.
Original case is stainless steel with dimensions of 37.5mm diameter by 13.8mm thick. Original acrylic crystal is clean. Original bezel still has its sharp edges. Original insert is clean, with Units Per Hour scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’. The original screw down crown and pump style screw down chronograph pushers are all operating perfectly. The chronograph hands reset crisply and accurately to their zero positions. Case has surface signs of wear but nothing remarkable, and will clean up marvelously should the new owner choose to have the case polished.
Original black Sigma dial is in mint+ condition, with contrasting silver sunken subdials with concentric guilloche, applied white gold hour markers, and original hands which are also in mint+ condition. The subdial hands are painted black for legibility.
Original manual winding Rolex Caliber 727, which has 17 jewels, is adjusted to 3 positions, and features column wheel construction. The movement is running great and is as clean as the day it was first cased into this watch.
Serial number 3536XXX dates production to 1972.
Bracelet is Rolex Oyster 78350 with 12 links, and is in mint condition.
