Description
The IWC Portuguese Tourbillon Mystere is a limited edition wristwatch and is completely sold out at the retail level. This watch is still brand new, still in the factory wrap, and complete with box and papers.
For anyone not familiar with the IWC Portuguese watches, just let me say you would be hard pressed to find a nicer looking watch from any brand. The case’s size at 44.2mm diameter is perfect. This particular watch features a tourbillon, which is celebrated as one of the highest complications in horology and deservedly so.
Let’s start with the beautiful solid 18k white gold case. The fit and finish are outstanding. The case lines are simple, but the size is spectacular at 44.2mm diameter by 14.2mm thick. The crystal is very slightly domed sapphire in the front and flat sapphire in the display back. Its simplicity is eclipsed by its beauty, truly.
Dial is dark grey, some would call it ruthenium color. The white gold arabic numerals are applied and the minutes chapter is comprised of dots which are engraved into the dial and then filled with white gold. The hands are white gold leaf style. There is a subsidiary seconds dial and power reserve indicator. Of course, the most exciting aspect of the dial is the tourbillon cut away at 12 o’clock which reveals the tourbillon perpetually travelling its 360 degrees in each minute arc.
IWC is deservedly proud of its Pellaton winding in house movements. These impressive manufacture calibers have found their way into most of the Portuguese production in the last decade, and offer a 7 day power reserve, 44 jewels, Breguet balance spring and adjusted to 5 positions. The fit and finish of the movement befits its status and its tourbillon complication.
Strap is brown IWC crocodile with 18k white gold IWC deployant clasp.
