Description
Here is a rare military issued vintage Rolex Submariner reference 5513 with full Rolex authentication signed by the famous Rolex UK General Manager Henry Hudson in 2004. This watch was also serviced by Rolex UK in 2004.
Original stainless steel case features the distinctive bezel insert with minute hash marks for all 60 minutes. Crown screws down and operates smoothly. Crystal is domed sapphire. Bezel rotates smoothly and with the correct amount of friction. With the exception of the edges of the bezel and the crown, all case surfaces are brush finished, which is part of the military specs. The case back shows the issuance numbers. The lugs are soldered into the case. The letters from Henry Hudson that accompany the watch show exactly where it was supplied to. The two letters from Mr. Hudson cross reference the watch’s serial number, as of course, does the Rolex Service document. The case is 100% original and in mint+ condition.
Original untouched black dial has the encircled ‘T’ which only appears on the military spec watches. The original hands have some spotting on the metal, but are guaranteed original and correct. Note the special shape of the hands and the seconds hand that are used exlusively on the Mil Spec. Submariners.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1520 with 26 jewels is in immaculate condition as one would expect after the 2004 Rolex service.
Serial number 3927XXX dates production of this watch to 1972. Inside case back is engraved with the watch’s serial number, ‘5513’ and date code ‘I.72’.
This is an important and extremely collectable vintage military spec Rolex Submariner 5513 with fully authenticated Rolex provenance and is entirely original.
