This reference 16808 Submariner from 1987 with original Serti dial is in immaculate condition, truly 99% new. Indeed, if you have never worn/owned a gold Submariner, you are missing a treat. There may be no more handsome watch in the world than a gold Sub.
Serti dials have jewels, and raise the ante considerably on a gold Sub. The blue sapphires and diamonds on the gold dial contrast exquisitely with the blue bezel and gold case.
Solid 18k gold case measures 40mm diameter by 12.7mm. The condition of this case is perfect. The original blue bezel insert has some very light marks, but that’s it – otherwise the case is in perfect condition. Being a Submariner the watch is water resistant to 300 meters (1000 feet) and features a sapphire crystal and screw down crown. The bezel is sold 18k gold and turns smoothly and with precision.
Serti dial is gold with blue sapphires and diamonds. The dial is untouched and in perfect 100% original condition. Date window at 3 o’clock.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3035 with 27 jewels and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
Bracelet is the original 18k Rolex Oyster with 11 solid gold links and flip-lock clasp. Unlike the vast majority of bracelets on 16808 Subs, the Rolex crown on the clasp of this watch is still crisp and the bracelet is in perfect condition.
Serial number R387XXX dates the watch to 1987.
