Description
It’s a pity that only one person will end up owning this watch; it’s so good looking everyone deserves to feast their eyes on it in the metal. The condition is mint+ and the watch is all original. The fit and finish is remarkable good, and of course the soft color texture of the 18k gold amplifies the contrast between the brushed and polished surfaces on the case. This is a magnificent vintage SeaMaster chronograph from 1971-73.

The 18k gold case measures 39mm wide by 41.7mm long by 16mm thick. The screw down crown and round pump style chronograph pushers are working perfectly and the acrylic crystal is perfectly clear. The case back has an engraved horse and “SEAMASTER” with the Omega logo above it.

Original dial is gold color with red tachymeter scale, applied hour markers with black enamel inlaid, golden hands with both inlaid luminous and inlaid black enamel (I’ve never seen that before!), and date at 3 o’clock. The chronograph records elapsed time for the seconds and minutes on the centrally mounted hands (the hand with the airplane figure at the tip is for minutes) and up to 12 hours in the subdial above 6 o’clock. The subdial near 9 o’clock displays constant seconds and 24 hour time.

Movement is the automatic winding Omega Caliber 1040 with 22 jewels, which is a Lemania base caliber.

Bracelet is original to the watch and will fit up to a 6.5 inch wrists.

This is a beautiful watch. Consider that a gold Rolex Daytona from this period will be priced at over $60,000…
