Description
One of the great enigmas in the watch business is why Rolex no longer sells Tudor watches in the USA. Tudor watches exceed their competitors in quality and styling, and except for the movements are basically Rolex watches. Two years ago, Tudor introduced the Heritage chronograph, which is a kick-ass watch. The alchemists over at the Bamford Watch Department customized this chronograph with black DLC coating and a custom dial. It’s killer!
Tudor named this watch “Heritage” because it is an homage (but with modern improvements) to their now famous and highly collectable “Monte Carlo” chronographs of the 1970s.
Case measures a massive 41.7mm diameter by 13mm thick. Sapphire crystal. Interestingly, the case has the same beveled sides as a Daytona. The screw down crown and chronograph pushers have knurled sides for ease of use. Bezel turns in both directions. Water resistant to 100 meters.
The black dial has baseball homeplate shaped hour markers. These same hour markers were originally used on the most collectable of all Monte Carlo chronographs. Dial has a outer grey area with orange numerals marking each 5 minute interval, luminous hands and hour markers, applied Tudor crest, chronograph totalizer subdial and constant seconds subdial and date window at 6 o’clock. Bamford signed their name to the dial above 6 o’clock.
Bracelet is Tudor Oyster with signed expandable clasp. Full-length bracelet will fit up to 8.5 inch wrist.
Bamford Watch Department’s DLC coating simply cannot be compared to the DLC work of any other company. If Rolex were to offer DLC coated watches, they would use Bamford’s work as their standard.
Watch is new with undated Tudor warranty card and Tudor box.
