Let me tell you, dear readers, that this watch is a kick-ass, burning hunk of rose gold love (and then some). It even has a unique, genuinely useful complication that tells the wearer when high and low tides occur. On the wrist, this beast is so beautiful that you won’t be able to look at anything else, even if, say, Scarlett Johanssen walks by. You’ll just be staring contentedly at your Tides watch.
Case has some unique things design elements. Bezel is 12 sided, and the sides of the case correspond to the bezel’s shape. What’s insanely cool, and something I’ve never seen before, is that the massive domed sapphire crystal covers not only the dial but also the bezel, which has nautical flags painted in bright colors. The solid and massive 18k rose gold case measures 45mm diameter by 51mm length (lug tip to lug tip) by 14.6mm thick. Massive screw down rose gold crown is knurled for ease of grip. Case back has a sapphire display crystal and a black area where it is signed Corum along with a sailboat image. Case is water resistant to 100 meters.
Dial is matte silver with applied luminous hour markers and massive luminous hands. The seconds hand is red. Date is displayed at 3 o’clock. Subdials display 24 hour time; high tide, low tide, and half-tides; and esoteric elliptical moonphase display. Between the colorful nautical flags on the bezel and the multi-colored dial, this is a very sporty watch.
Movement is the automatic winding ETA 2892 with proprietary patented Dubois Depraz module for the tide indications. Movement has 21 jewels, 42 hours of power reserve and beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Bracelet is a work of art. Solid 18k rose gold with massive links, which have both brushed and polished surfaces, and push button clasp. Bracelet will fit up to a 7.75 inch wrist.
Really, this watch is uber good looking, not to mention useful if you need to know tidal information. Most of all it’s just gorgeous. Watch will be delivered with Corum box and warranty card.
