Description
Here is a very rare Datejust, reference 1611, with original Florentine finish 18k bezel in mint condition. Produced in the early 1970s and next to impossible to find, here is a chance for collectors to acquire an interesting timepiece that will not come around again for a long time.
Original solid 18k gold case with original and mint Florentine finish bezel. Crystal is acrylic. Screw down crown works great. Case is in excellent condition. Dimensions are 35mm diameter by 11mm thick.
Original champagne pie pan dial with applied hour markers, original hands and date window at 3 o'clock.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels and adjusted to five positions and temperature. This is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Rolex used the Caliber 1570 in the Datejust and Submariners of that period and after a long time of collecting and dealing in vintage Rolex watches, I can say with confidence that the 1570 is the best serially produced automatic caliber ever. They run for decades and still keep chronometer time even after getting beaten up. You can’t ask for more from a movement than that.
Watch is in excellent condition and will be delivered on new leather strap with authentic gold plated Rolex buckle.
