Description
Here is a magnificent vintage Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 96 in 18k gold with the Patek anti-magnetic Caliber 27-AM 400. Condition is clean and mint, which is a tad clinical because this watch is just plain nice. Production is from circa 1965.
Original solid 18k gold case measures 30.5mm diameter by 9mm thick. The bezel along with the top surfaces of the case are mirror polished, while the case sides are brush finished. Snap case back is polished. Original solid gold signed crown.
Original dial is silvered and almost white. Large and nice applied golden hour markers and my favorite, original golden dauphine hands. Subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. There is also an embossed minutes chapter.
Original manual winding Patek Philippe Caliber 27-AM 400 with 18 jewels, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions, and double stamped with the Geneva Seal. The movement is winding smoothly, beating strongly, and immaculately clean. The “AM” in the movement model number is for “anti-magnetic”.
Strap is modern brown crocodile Patek with gold plated Patek buckle.
