Here’s a great opportunity to buy one of Cartier’s nicest watches – the Tank Americaine XL Chronograph – in solid 18k rose gold with automatic movement, with all of the boxes and documents that you get from the store, new and at a significant discount from the $23,325 retail price.
I have been eyeing this watch for the past couple of days. The mirror polished 18k rose gold rectangular tank case measures 51mm long by 32mm wide by 12mm thick. Crown has a large sapphire cabochon. Sapphire crystal with sapphire display back crystal.
Silver dial has guilloche and those famous Cartier roman numerals and blued sword hands. There are three sunken subdials: constant seconds, chronograph 30 minute totalizer and 12 hour totalizer. Date display aperture below 12 o’clock, where the current date is the center number.
Movement is the automatic winding Cartier Caliber 205, which is built from a Frederic Piguet base caliber (F.P. # 1185) which is one of the nicest chronograph movements ever designed and built. Movement features 37 jewels, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and is extensively decorated with the Cartier logo.
Strap is a beautiful brown crocodile with 18k rose gold Cartier deployment clasp.
