Description
TAG Heuer is famous for its chronographs, many of which celebrate the company’s racing heritage. This Monaco 12 LS Linear chronograph is something special. Watch is brand new with box, operating instructions and warranty card.
Square stainless steel case is massive at 40mm long (49mm long lug tip to lug tip) by 42mm wide by 17.2mm thick. Crystal is sapphire. Case back is solid steel and is engraved “MONACO” and “LINEAR SYSTEM”. Top surfaces of the watch are mirror finished and the bottom bezel is engraved “TAG HEUER”. Rectangular chronograph pushers and large crown with red enamel ring are recessed into large sloping and notched protective shoulders. The steel on the case sides is brush finished. Case is water resistant to 100 meters.
Black dial is very sporty with large chromed luminous hands and applied chromed hour markers. Chronograph seconds hand is red tipped. There is a lot of red on the dial. Dial print says “TAG HEUER”, “AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH”, “MONACO LS”, “CALIBRE 12” and “SWISS MADE”.
This chronograph distinguishes itself from the vast majority of chronographs by featuring unconventional displays. The seconds is located at the 3 o’clock position and is an alternating red or black line that traverses its ‘00’ to ‘60’ scale. The chronograph minutes totalizer is an arc display next to 9 o’clock, in which a red line travels in one-minute increments across the white scale below. The chronograph 12 hour totalizer is conventional and located above 6 o’clock. The date display is beneath ‘MONACO LS’ and isolates the current date between two red lines.
Movement is the automatic winding TAG Heuer Caliber 2110 with 55 jewels and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Strap is black TAG Heuer crocodile with steel TAG Heuer deployment clasp.
