Description
Van Der Bauwede, which is a rare brand, made this Magnum collection of three interesting watches in a limited edition. This set is numbered in the single digits. Two of the watches have silver cases and one watch (the diver’s watch) has a stainless steel case. All are tonneau shaped and great looking. The set of three watches includes the original box and each watch has its hang tag.
First, the Magnum with Caliber 35 automatic winding chronograph movement. The silver case on this watch is massive, measuring 49mm long by 40mm wide by 14.4mm thick. Thankfully, the case is ergonomically curved for comfort. Crystal is sapphire. Dial is black with luminous hands and Arabic numerals, three subdials (seconds, chronograph minutes counter and 12 hour counter) and day and date. Crown and chronograph pushers are six sided. Movement is the Caliber 35 with automatic winding, 25 jewels and a 42 hour power reserve.
Second up is the Caliber 25, which also features a silver case which measures 48.5mm long by 40mm wide by 11.1mm thick. This watch is a split seconds chronograph with three subdials. Black dial with luminous hands and arabic numerals. Date between 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock. Movement is quartz.
The Caliber 30 is also tonneau shaped and the case is stainless steel. This is a diver’s watch, as evidenced by the uni-directional diver’s count-up timing bezel. Case measures 48.5mm long by 43mm wide by 11.5mm thick. Crystal is sapphire. Unlike the other watches in the set, this diver’s watch has shoulders that protect the screw-down crown. The numbers on the bezel are in relief and the bezel surface is bead-blasted matte while the rest of the case finish is mirror polished. Automatic movement with date display at 6 o’clock.
All three watches are outfitted with unworn black crocodile Van Der Bauwede straps with a double row of exposed white stitching and with steel deployment clasps.
