Description
I should confess, right up front, that I love Michel Parmigiani’s watches. The brand is named Parmigiani Fleurier, which Michel started in the mid-1990s. Mr. Parmigiani came to prominence in the watch world for his skill in restoring rare and important clocks, including many in church clock towers. So clearly, the man knows movements, and his entire collection features calibers constructed in the brand’s ateliers.
The solid 18k rose gold Toric case is a masterpiece, with its double tier fluted front. Crown has a blue sapphire cabochon. Front and display back sapphire crystals. Generously sized at 40mm diameter by 8.5mm thick.
Dial is black with embossed outer minutes chapter, rose gold brush finished ring with roman numerals, and then inside black area with barleycorn guilloche. Just underneath the center pinion is an applied rose gold placard with “PARMIGIANI FLEURIER”. Hour and minutes hands are javelin style in polished rose gold and center seconds hand is blued. Date window at 3 o’clock.
Movement is the automatic winding Parmigiani Caliber 133 with 25 jewels and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. This is an in-house manufacture movement and is adjusted in 5 positions.
Strap is a new brown hand-sewn Patek Philippe strap with original 18k rose gold Parmigiani tang buckle.
Watch will be delivered with its box. Condition is like new.
