Description
Right off the bat, any vintage Patek Philippe collector can tell you that it is practically unheard of to find a mint+ condition original watch from 1966 with its original box and papers. This interesting square gold wristwatch is a rare and collectable timepiece.
Square solid 18k gold case with textured finish on the top surfaces. Case retains its original factory finish and sharp edges and has never been polished. Square acrylic crystal. Crown is signed with Calatrava cross. Case back is brush finished and has surface marks from the watch being put down on its back repeatedly. Otherwise case is unpolished original mint. Dimensions are 32.5mm long including the lugs by 30mm wide by an astonishingly thin 5.2mm depth.
Original untouched silver dial with applied golden baton style indices and original golden baton hands. Dial is signed “PATEK PHILIPPE GENEVE BEYER SWISS”. Beyer Chronometrie is an important watch retailer in Zurich, with whom Patek has a long standing relationship.
Movement is the manual winding Patek Philippe Caliber 175 with 18 jewels with free-sprung Gyromax balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions. Movement is stamped with the Geneva Seal and running great.
Strap is vintage but still new Patek black reptile. This watch will be delivered with original box and papers.
