Description
The Flightmaster is one of those rare watches that has its own unique look. The watch world is littered with chronographs, yet none look like the Flightmaster. Made in the early 1970s only, this is a rare watch and this example is in very nice condition.
Case is stainless steel and huge at 52.5mm long by 43mm wide (not including the crowns) and 15.8mm thick. Case is very uniquely shaped. The crowns and chrono buttons all work great. The crown and chronograph pushers are on the right side of the case, while the crown at 10 o’clock controls the blue second timezone hand and the crown at 8 o’clock turns the inner bezel with the count-up 5 minute scale. Mineral glass crystal. Case is very clean.
Dial is completely original, and as I mentioned, very original. Grey color with interesting checkered pattern at the periphery, contrasting black subdials and luminous hour markers which now have a pleasing and uniform patina. Original hands including orange chronograph hands and blue seconds timezone hand.
Movement is the Omega manually winding Caliber 911 with 17 jewels in clean running condition.
Bracelet is steel Omega, in clean condition, and will fit up to a 7.5 inch wrist.
