Cartier realized well ahead of many of the sleepy giants in watchdom, that customers wanted large watches. Cartier obliged their customers and designed some great, modernly styled watches based on their existing lineup. Kudos to Cartier. This Santos 100 was one of their first oversized models -- and you know what? It rocks.
Case is massively proportioned and highly detailed. The quality of this watch and its fit and finish are truly first-rate. Case features a polished steel bezel with polished edges and exposed screws, while the rest of the case is brushed. Lug to lug, lengthwise, the case measures 50.9mm by 42.8mm across (including the crown) by 10.7mm thick. Sapphire crystal. Crown has a blue sapphire cabochon.
Movement is automatic and, like the case, high quality with 21 jewels and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour which ensures very accurate and almost deviation-free timekeeping.
Bracelet on this watch maintains the same quality seen in the case. Very thick solid steel links with exposed screws and double folding deployment clasp. Bracelet will fit up to an 8 inch wrist.
