Description
Here is a very nice, extra clean vintage Rolex Submariner reference 5512 from 1970 with original papers. The original untouched meters first dial has perfect patina.
Original stainless steel case measures 40mm diameter by 14.1mm thick. Original bezel turns as it should. The bezel insert is missing its pearl and is lightly faded, which gives it almost a blue hue. Domed plastic crystal. Original screw down crown operating perfectly. Case is very clean with fat lugs and nice edges.
Serial number is 2503XXX dating production to 1970. Inside case back shows a date code of I.70, showing that the watch left the factory during the first quarter of 1970.
Original untouched black dial with meters first in the depth rating (which is rare and attractive to collectors). The hour markers have an even and pleasing patina. Hands also have an even and matching patina.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1560 with 26 jewels adjusted to temperature and in 5 positions. Movement is clean and running well and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
Bracelet is Rolex Oyster 78360 with flip-lock clasp and 12 links. Bracelet has no stretch but shows light wear.
Watch is accompanied by original punched papers.
